My Wealthy Affiliate Journey is owned and operated by Laurie J. Brenner, former managing editor of a small-town California historical weekly newspaper. She recently authored two books, Changing Planes, a metaphysical fiction and The Little Book of Becoming-Understanding the Law of Attraction-The Primer to Living Inside Out. Both Books are now available on Amazon.com.
Laurie J. Brenner began her online journey in February of 2007, and almost instantly started making affiliate money. Through the course of the next two years, she has spent time learning everything there is to learn about creating websites, html, WordPress blogs and all kinds of other wonderful things. She has authored two books and has several websites online. Prior to joining Wealthy Affiliate, Laurie made $1600 over that first two year period. So far, with applying what she is learning over at Wealthy Affiliate, things are picking up.
It’s all about following your passions. One of Laurie’s passions (having been a small town weekly newspaper managing editor) is creating websites and writing. “Creating a website is much the same as putting together a small town newspaper.” Laurie worked in the community news field back in the 80’s when 90% of the work was done by hand on light tables, including building ads. They had Compugraphic equipment (photo type / semi-computer equipment) to create headlines and type columns, with no editing features. “What you put in is exactly what you got out,” Laurie says, “so your words and lines had to be spaced correctly [this was called leading] and there could be no typos, or mis-spellings.
“We also did our own reporting, investigating, and camera work, developed our own film in a dark room, and then made our PMS copies for the newspaper, complete with the screening necessary (for the dots now called pixels) to add to the newspaper pages created as positives. We laid out the newspaper by hand on newspaper sized layout pages laid atop light tables [so you could see through to the light grid lines]. When we were done, each page was then shot and a negative was created, which had to be cleaned up. From there, plates were created and the newspaper printed on a web-press.”

A student of metaphysics and create your own reality [now called the law of attraction], Brenner and her husband, Gordon, live on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada and share their ten-acre piece of heaven with their two dogs, four cats, wild deer and mated red tail hawks as well as a myriad of creatures from the seen and unseen realms of nature.
They live in Wildwind, the house they built and designed using nothing more than the Law of Attraction, inspired action, and the sweat of their brows.

Though neither one of them had any prior construction experience, using the principles outlined in the Little Book, she and her husband took on this monumental task of building this three-story dream home in 2000.
A prolific writer, you’ll find Brenner everywhere on the internet with her inspirational and motivational articles.
On any given day, you might find Brenner in her third story loft office with an incredible view of the western slope, where she dreams and writes. She’s currently working on a new novel – about a Native American shapeshifter (changeling) as well as several other projects.
